A great DIY!

I had this done when my car was in the shop a few years back for some minor body work. The shop did not do nearly the meticulous job you did. I accepted their explanation that the panels warp over time and so it is hard to replace the rubber to an OEM standard. Yet another lesson learned.

If you are talking about the little red grommets that attach to the side of the body then you can find them at your local Porsche dealer as well.

That might have been me. I have a few left over. Let me know how many you need. Do you need the studs, plugs, or both?

Every time I read something here it seems to cost me money!

New seals arrived today and the clips and grommets should be here tomorrow (saturday) or Monday.

I have a couple of gaps at the moment and 1 of the front clips is broken, so doing this will make a huge difference.

Thanks for the DIY it will help me no end.

Well, I got the job done! Unfortunately I still had a couple of gaps so both sides had to come back off.

I then discovered that a little "gentle persuasion" on the brackets under the sill made everything fit nice and tight.

Looks much better now and the new goodridge hoses have arrived as well, so another busy weekend.

Fantastic write up and I think I will approach this DIY project as well.....on more question however.

In your post, you do not cover the rear cladding which extends from behind the rear wheel and around the rear bumper....this is precisely where the cladding on my car has shrunk and popped out of the channel.

I will check in the forum for more on this topic but any response would be appreciated.

Well sorry for jumping the gun...went back to the forum and there is a post, at least one, on removal of rear bumper, I assume the replacement of the cladding would follow the same process as the side cladding.

Cheers,

Paul

I also have the front and rear bumper seals to install someday but they are not usually problem areas. Not like the sides at least. My DIY is just for the more common sides.

Hey Jeff,

On your first shot of the small panel being removed, you can see the pin in the clip is ribbed. The replacement clips were not ribbed, but just flared with a recess. The new clip would not hold for me. Did you replace that clip as well? Any problems. I did not replace the body grommets (red plugs) and wondered if that was what needed to be done? Any thoughts?
