I've recently put a deposit on a '92 model Tiptronic Coupe. It's Amazon Green (I think), with 166000 Kms on the odometer. It's in good condition. There are a few things that need attention, nothing serious. And the price reflects the condition.
It's been nearly 10 years since I've owned a Porsche (previously a 944). Not owning one has been nagging at my soul since I sold the 944. It's definitely the right time.
So I should be happy ...
BUT
The wife is not too happy about the whole thing. And she won't tell me why, of course.
She has her own car for commuting and for the family, so it's not like her motoring needs are being neglected.
Originally, the 968 was going to make us a 3 car family, but my other car was recently written off in an accident. So I need a car in any case.
We are planning on having another child, so we will need a bigger car in the future. But I think it's premature to buy a family car now, just in case we have twins (not likely but possible) and need a mini-MPV.
Hopefully, she'll come around when I take delivery. I've already set the expectation that there will be some moderately high maintenance involved. And my last car was pretty high maintenance, and that was bought new.
Anybody else faced the same situation?
