short shift kits
#1

I been looking for a kit to update my rowboat, and I see that speed-6 has 2 different kits and 9xauto has the kokeln and another, any one of these better than the other?

What should i change in addition to smooth out some of the vibration

what vibration?

the short shift kit that i have has nothing to do with vibration increasing or decreasing

an aftermarket shift knob could be a different story - is that what you are talking about?

this is an ongoing problem - so we're clear on what we are talking about , the shifter is the metal assembly that screws to the torque tube - the knob is on top of that - the shift kit goes back at the linkage at the transaxle (though there is a short shifter out there - about $100 - maybe that is the one you mean?)

please clarify

Sorry for not being clear. I sort of mixed 2 things together in that post. There is a decent amount of vibration in the shifter, what bushings do I need to replace in order to tame the beast...

And second. There looks like there are 2 kinds of shifters out there the shortened lever(kokeln) and the shortened linkage(speed-6), is there any advantage of one over the other?

The Kokeln SS is an in car kit and requires you to use an aftermarket knob with a round adapter so Porsche knobs won't work they are rectangular.

The 9Racing SS is an out of car SS that attaches to the tranny. I think this is the better option. Installation is relatively simple. You get to keep your shifter as is. I did a group buy a year or two ago. so there are at least 50 guys out there that I know of running this SS.

i found the list in your garage, drool

ill get my car up once i get it all nice and clean, the pollen in in ATL makes cleaning impossible, once you dry it, the static charge that builds up attracts even more pollen
