Search/select members by state
#1

Is there any way to find the members in a particular state? I'd like to connect with other 968 owners in AZ.

I believe Flash was working on that at one time, but with all his projects... I was asking for the same reason for here in E. Alabama (Auburn)/W. Georgia (Columbus).

At one time there was a pin map that forum members added a pin to represent their location.

Here's a link to the map, not sure if any one monitors it any more but it's still there.

We have requested numerous times that members publish information about their location, car, etc. Everyone is entitled to participate to whatever extent they want and so we don't enforce this information. Those of you who don't post location are mssing out on one of the great benefits of this community...the ability to connect face-to-face with other enthusiasts.

Regards,

Jay

If filling in location was manditory to joining the forum, then that problem would be solved.

it is mandatory now - it wasn't until about a year ago though, and there were already a LOT of members who didn't enter that info

it's only a city and state thing too, so there is no issue of privacy or security to be concerned with

but i agree with jay - it could be invaluable to the members to know who is in their area, whether it be for friendly gatherings or for seeking out or providing help

When I was the Advocate for the 240 968 owners, who were also members of the PCA 968 Register, there were 6 members in Arizona. Chandler, Phoenix (2), Prescott, Surprise and Tucson

If you are a PCA member already and want to join the PCA 968 Register, simply go to www.968register.org (icon on front page of this website) and fill in an application. Jeff Coe, the Advocate, will sign you up and (upon your request) send you the current list of 968 Register members in your state. If you are not yet a PCA member, you can join at www.pca.org There is no additional charge for any PCA members.

a complete list of members who have provided their locations and such, compiled from multiple sources, will be posted here in the next few weeks - i think i have well over 1000 of them now - i've just been working on organizing all of it into some easy to read format

Yeah, I don't know if it was so much the lack of info... although there are some people who don't have that info up. Could just be they aren't interested in the networking side of the board. However, I think the searchability of said database is the issue. Yeah, I can see individually by post or by profile who is from where, but what if I wanna see EVERYone from a certain state or region?

Looking forward to the compile Flash!

Glad to see I'm not the only lonely guy out there That will be great to be able to connect with other reasonably local (after all there aren't that many 968's to be really "local"). That's part of what makes these cars special.

I'll check with Jeff and have him send me a list of the 968 Registry members in AZ (I'm the Prescott member0.

Thanks, Flash!
