RUSH - upcoming movie
#1

Who has seen the preview for this upcoming movie? Looks to be interesting...

(from the net)

RUSH is an upcoming 2013 British-American biographical action film directed by Ron Howard about the 1976 Formula One season and the rivalry between drivers James Hunt and Niki Lauda, and is due to be released on September 13, 2013.

(And some of you, when you read the topic title, thought it was about the "old / washed up" rock band!!!) <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/icon_lol1.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

have not seen the preview, but any F 1 related film and I'll be there. I thought the Senna docu-drama film was very well done, and I'm hopeful Ron Howard will do this upcoming film justice

The Canadian rock band Rush - Is not "washed up" for your information....They continue to write and perform new music while selling out stadium venues.

Olivia Wilde is in tne movie. Even more reason to see it now. :-)

Unable to post the photo here for some reason, but just google " Olivia Wilde at the premiere of RUSH " images and you'll see what I mean..she's appropriately wearing a tuxedo for the event. :-)

Definitely looking forward to this movie. I remember as a kid, long before Al Gore had willed the internet upon us, following the Lauda/Hunt rivalry through the pages of Road & Track magazine. It didn't bother me that the stories I was reading were about races that happened weeks if not months earlier - it's what got me hooked on racing.

I had a brush with fame at JFK. Went o pick my Brother-in-Law up at the TWA terminal and a brand new Ferrari was parked right in front..I told my Brother-in-Law I brought my new car to pick him up...and brought Niki Lauda to drive him....he almost fell on his ass when he saw who was at the wheel...LOL!

I saw the preview today. I have to say it looks too overdone. If I was going to want to watch something on Niki Lauda, I would prefer something more akin to a documentary. This looks too Hollywood scandal. I think I will give it a miss.

Just saw the preview / trailer also, and I completely agree with ink's impression. Although, I will still see it just not wasting the time and money at a cinema, will wait for it on Netflix or Comcast OnDemand, or iTunes..either one of those will have it in a matter of weeks

I'll take my chances with Ron Howard and see it in the theater. He usually doesn't do crap and I bet the action race scenes will be awesome in Imax!

I don't go to theaters. I can't stand to be around inconsiderate people and everything is coming out in 3D and the glasses never fit and the technology just gives me a headache. I wait to buy stuff on Blu Ray when it's cheap.

A 30 dollar blu ray will be 23 in 8 weeks and then it will be 15 in 3 months and then 5 bucks at target if you wait long enough.

There is NOTHING like watching a good film on a BIG screen. I bought the Sena movie on DVD, but watching it on the BIG screen was WAY better. I will need to see the Rush film on a B...I...G screen

We have a local Multiplex that has $5.00 Tuesdays and $3.00 for a large popcorn. Rush is scheduled to open on the 27th.

Big screen, big sound, racing movie, life is good.

Finally got around to watching the film Rush. This will rank pretty high on my "best movie" list!

Amazing how they were able to set the context to the mid-70's in such a way that at times you think you are watching a movie made back then. Yet, way better action then they could have filmed back then.

Watched it in a VIP theatre with beer, burger and fries served to my ultra wide and comfortable seat! It was GREAT!

Ink - I did not watch in my underwear, but I did kick my shoes off and put my legs on the seat ahead of me (it was a 1pm showing - so no one ahead of me..)

I highly recommend this movie!

Could have sworn I posted here last weekend after seeing the film, but since there's clearly no such post in the thread I have no clue what might have happened.. Anyway, I think the movie is also at the top of my all time favorites list..in any / all genres. Outstanding in every respect; story line, acting, do reacting, cinematography ..flawless and captivating from begining to end. Glad I saw it on big screen .
