RS Barn Headers on RHD
#1

First of all, hi to everyone on this forum - I race a 968 here in New Zealand in circuit and Targa race series.

Does anyone here have any first hand knowledge as to whether these headers will fit a right hand drive car and clear the steering gear?

TIA - George

99% sure it is for LHD only, shoot RSBarn an email or PM Pete here. http://www.968forums.com/index.php?act=Msg...DE=4&MID=50

I've just had first hand experience. They do not fit RHD cars. OUCH!!!

Sorry for any confusion/better than convulsions.

thanks Pete - how much 'customising' to get them to fit or is it a 'no way in hell' sort of interference.

One of the class leading S2 (a LHD) has just sprouted a set of 4 into 1 headers and is going a lot quicker (more than half a second a lap in qualifying) so it would appear to be the latest escalation in the arms race.

Hi George,

Only a few weeks ago, I tried fitting them to my RHD 968cs in Perth.

Unfortunately, the steering arm hits the outer most pipe length . It 'may' be possible to modify that by rerouting it underneath and around the steering arm but as with most exhausts, it would be a trial and error thing by refitting and trying to see if it fits. Since mine was ceramic coated it just wasn't worth cutting it up and having it re-coated. Pete was good enough to take it back last week and for now, I'm just going with the cat back setup and awaiting news if he can develop a RHD version.

Regards,

Steve
