There were at least 8 968s at Sebring
#1

It was great to see a bunch of 968s at club race at Sebring. 5 race cars and at least 3 DE cars. It was a wild weekend with many incidents and some crazy stuff in all groups. I got through with out any damage but there were some close calls. New video when I get back to Houston! <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> I was charged a lap penalty for passing under yellow during sprint race, I did not do it and have video to prove it but I think officals have better things to do than review a winer's video! BOOHOO.

Enduro was better, a lot of yellow laps so I made it without a re-fuel, restart was a hoot as fast cars piled up behind me and when green dropped all hell broke loose. All in all a real fun weekend, and a great weekend for us 968 racers.

5 968s must be some kind of record for a PCA race (or any race?). It looks like the 968 guys did real good in F too. Congrats to all.

PcarFan, yea PCA has its faults but it is still worth the membership, go to www.pca.org/sfl for our Suncoast region's calendar.

We're starting to see more and more 968's in F class. 5 968's in a race ties a record as far as I know. There were 5 at both Watkins Glen and Carlonia Motorsports Park last year. I expect about that many at Mid Ohio this year as well. I think people are starting to realize that 968's can be very competitive in F class.

Hey Guys, great site. I'm glad to discover a nice 968 site on the web. I am relatively new to 968's but I've enjoyed mines a ton. Once apon a time I had a 993 Supercup that I used for DE's. Also own a 91' C2 Turbo. I am suprised that neither of these cars can hold a candle to the 968 in the twisties. I saw some of you down at Sebring and Road Atlanta at the club race. Keep me Posted.

Charles, congratulations on your F class win at Road Atlanta! I was hoping to see you at the Mid Ohio race in a couple of weeks, but I haven't seen your name on the schedule.

Jim:

Thanks for the congrats, As far as mid ohio, out of money... We've had our hands full keeping the exhaust and power steering assembly together. After I finished Road Atlanta we discovered a noise coming from the variocam which could indicate that we need a new one, possibly due to the oil fed tensioning device is not properly "oil feeding". I am going to take 8 months off to save money for our repairs and get ready for a 7 race season for 2006, Sebring, Road Atl, Barber BHM, AL (coming back), Mid Ohio, Carolina, Road America. That'l be enough race to keep my wife pissed off at me year round.

Hope the 968's take all the podium spots at the mid ohio race. I know you and Grigsby are familiar with that track so don't let them other guys by ya.

FLY FAST and CHECK 6 (O'clock)
