I agree, probably one of the best endurance races I've seen. The way the last hour and a half was raced you'd have thought this was a 30 minute sprint race. While I'm pleased that the GT 3 Cups were victorious, it doesn't seem like there was much competion for them. The Mazda's didn't last, the Pontiacs are just too heavy to be competative, and what happened with Ferrari? Nevertheless a treat to watch.
I particularly enjoyed the flashback videos from the 1960s. The only coverage of those 60's enduros was Wide World of Sports and it wasn't much.
I am forever grateful that I live close to Monterey so that I can see also those great endurance racers run. Last year, the #6 Lola Chevy that Donahue drove was at Laguna Seca along with Porsche 904 GTSs, 906s, 907s, 908s, 910s, a Ferrari 330P, 250 LM, 275P, numerous GT 40s.
This coming August the historics will be featuring Porsche.

Nice to see Porsche back in Rolex seriously. It was painful the last few years watching the Brumos car suffer and such non-racing marques as Lexus win sportscar races.
Cosimo - we are talking a VIR trip in April!

I am still a bit confused on the Brumos car and its engine. It is named the Brumos Porsche - but that is the team (and dealership) name. The car does not have a Porsche hood badge and apparently the engine only has some Porsche content. It is not a variant of the V-8 Cayenne engine as has been reported by some, but instead a flat 6 variant. The chassis is from Riley.
The Porsche news release tiptoes around the issue:
