I worked the grid yesteday ad today. Not too hot and no rain. That's hard to beat in October. Here are some pictures from the DE grid and 2 968 F stock cars.

Yes, the action pictues are a little suckey. I used my wife's pocket Nikon. It just wasn't fast enough.



And now the grid pictures! DE drivers were all advanced solo or instructor level of competence.

Great pics Mike!



In the sprint race on Friday afternoon the yellow 968 had a great race with a 944 turbo. Under pressure, the 944 hit the alligators in turn 5 and the hose conecting the turbo to the intake came loose ending his run. A lengthy caution late in the race brought the two 968s together for a 1 lap shootout for the class win. The yellow car won by .007 seconds. Great race.



Did you see what was left of the Silver 996 GT3 in the garage area? I talked with the owner Friday afternoon. He was in the DE group and was doing around 165 mph when his RR tire failed in NASCAR turn 4 and put him in the wall front end first. The hit was hard enough that it shattered the windshield! The driver was uninjured, and said he wasn't worried about the damage because he had track insurance.

Sounds like I missed a terrific race! I was watching the first qualifying session Saturday and noticed that the red car only ran abut half of the session. Its good to know that he didn't have a problem that would have kept him from running the races. I did see the GT3 and the mark he left on the wall. I'm just worried that these high value losses are going to drive up the price of the insurance!



I'll be at Roebling Road in 2 weeks. I'll be running up to 15 psi boost, collecting engine and performance data, and having a hell of a good time! Before going further with the boost, I plan to do some additional dyno tuning to explore ignition timing changes. Right now, its pretty conservative.
