LOL!
I have a Craftsman self-propelled walk-behind with a 21" deck. Moving to a .5 acre property that has MUCH more lawn, too much for the walk-behind. Trying to do the math and figure what makes sense, like how long would it be before a $2,000 mower paid for itself. Probably about 3 years, I'm guessing. I enjoy doing it, but have really no time. Somehow I find it though, at the expense of other important things.
The only rider that makes sense for me is a zero-turn, because there are lots of mature trees at the new property. 42" deck would be fine, but it has to be very low maintenance. Really low. I need that time to work on the 968!

We're on an acre property, and about 1/2 of that is wooded. Our Snapper riding mower takes me about 30 minutes, and then trimming with the weedwacker another 10. Lots of trees and bushes to trim around..

My son uses a self propelled Toro weekly, or should I say weakly?
Problem is, he doesn't move anything. I've been preaching it for years but its not getting through. He has hit and damaged down spout extensions, garden hoses even the curb, which cost us a new blade.
Perhaps i should downgrade him to one of those two wheeled human powered push mowers.
I love my 968 for what it is & don't hate it for what it isn't!

Our local Home Depot (aka "Grown-Ups Toy Store") had 50% off tillers, mowers, and one Ariens 46" 20hp riding tractor mower. It had already been marked down $200, and the manager gave me the discount off of the lowest price. After applying a gift card, I paid less than $500 for a sweet tractor that will make the cutting fly.

Did I get a good deal?
