Repaired/Rebuilt camshafts ?
#1

hi there,

I was just trying to gather some information on repaired camshafts that have had new sprockets welded on ? Has anyone done this and what is the general view ? Would they theoretically be as good as new ones ?

cheers

HI Rich,

I had bought the repaired cams from pete over the summer and they work great!!! I hvae driven the now for about a 1000 miles with new cams and they work perfect!!! Not to mention the huge savings from new ones. Shold call quick and reserve a set because they go quick, he has ben finding alot of early 968's with broken teeth.

Thank god my cam cover gasket was leaking and filled my plug holes up w/oil and prevented from starting. Thats what lead me to the cams and ofocourse the help from others to inspect hte cams once the cam cover is off.

I have a 94 and had to replace my cams at 78K. I've put 4K on a set of RSB cams and all is well...

Either unlucky,,, OR,, maybee your car has covered more miles than you might think...

These cars are VERY easy to "clock".....

Not that ive done this, but i have taken a speedo apart , for some remedial work....

Do you have ALL the previous MOT,s to verify the milage.???

Help,

I need to buy some cam cores. Does anyone have cams with bad teeth laying around?

I have 4 sets out to customers without core returns.
