Saw the post about Modderman and will check them out.
Are there any other shops in Silicon Valley that people here would recommend?

Mark at Sportech in Cambell - highly recommended by me.
I went to him for a PPI and he diagnosed the pinion bearing issue on the car. That's relatively specialized knowledge. . . Spent extra time diagnosing it and only charged me the hour.

he also had plenty of 911's around the shop.

I have been taking all of my cars to Fremont Foreign Auto. He does all makes but specializes in European cars. He seems to do a lot of 944's for some reason. I stopped by his shop today and he had quite a few Porsches in there this week. A 996 needing a drive axle repair. Also some 944's in the rear.

Talk to Eduardo.

If you don't mind me asking, how much does this shop charge an hour? There are some jobs being done on my cars that I don't think warrant the amount of hours I'm being charged. A guy in Seattle who takes care of my S6 up there does excellent work and charges way less for a large amount of work. Looking for a cheaper shop down here.

a year ago it was $90. That seems to be on the lower end of the going rate round here. Dealers charge something like $150 an hour. (!)
