Just an update on my original post. Bob from Classic 9 Leather shop is custom cutting some OEM carpet for me to fit right where the seat bottoms were. I'm providing the template. Bound edges and all. Should look sort of factory and clean it up back there. Performance Products sells a similar piece for the 911 RS America. Now we have a reliable source for our cars. I'll include some pictures when it comes in. Getting my center console arm rest done in leather at the same time. WAAAAYYY cheaper than the OEM leather arm rest.

Cool. Between that, the removal of the spare/jack/tools, the RS Barn cat back, replacement of the stock seats with lightweight racing seats, the 18# flywheel, and just keeping the sunroof off most of the time, I should be down close to 150 lb. Just wish I could find a way to take more weight out of the front of the car... Maybe I need to think seriously about relocating the battery...

You could always put the engine in the back, I've heard of people doing that with other Porsches <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/rolleyes.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Yeah, and move the transaxle to the front, creating the world's first rear engined, front-wheel drive car <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/laugh.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> . Sounds like a good project for Monster Garage, or more likely, Pimp My Ride...

that's why i relocated the battery - at least that stated the balance back int eh right direction



you could remove the front bumper and bumper shocks - that's good for 16# - it's only effective up to 5mph anyway, and after that only results in exacerbating impact damage by connecting one side of the car to the other - disclaimer - this is NOT recommended for street cars kids, and is not legal in all areas
