Sunroof has a mind of its own
#1

My sunroof mechanism needs to be pulled apart. I therefore need to bring it back to the city to overhaul it.

My issue is that I need to drive it to the city and my sunroof won’t stay shut. Making matters worse is that only one of the splines work so the roof sits at an angle when it’s up... not very nice really.

The complication is that the roof won’t stay down:

When I lower the roof in the ignition 1 position it stays down indefinitely.

When i start the engine, the roof decides to raise itself after a couple of minutes.

ive read the excellent article at Clarke’s. I intend to strip everything down once it is home.

Is there a cheat that will keep the roof down for the long drive home? It’s going to be raining heavily over the weekend.

cheers

Does it have its own fuse, or share with something you don't need for that trip?  If yes, close the roof, switch off ign. and and then remove the fuse.

Looks like F1 / G21 should do the trick..... good luck and safe trip in the rain.

Excellent thanks. Rather embarrassing really - should have worked that one out. I’ll blame COVID.
