Thanks for the input guys. Just heard from my shop not to sweat it, they will submit their estimate with the body shop estimate

and feel it will be under the write off limit. Even if its close, they will negotiate with the insurance to ensure it is not written off.

They also plan to fix everything properly, no cutting corners.

Sometimes its hard to be patient, but it appears things will be OK. Love the car, and want to keep it!!

Maybe you can get the shop to thrown on a RSBarn system instead of stock, it sounds like your replacing everything in the system.

Good news.

RS Barn header back complete system being covered by insurance.

In the bodyshop now.

Only issue is I found my subs were damaged, they are in the

spare tire well. I don't feel at all concerned about it being fixed

as I'll replace them if I have to. Just glad insurance is fixing everything else!!!!

glad to see you are fixing her! be sure to check the rear trans cover (if stick) it is only made of plastic and butts up against the spare tire well. It is easily cracked (12$ item)

Now 2 weeks into driving a Corolla (nothing against them), but it looks like another

2 weeks before I get it back. This isn't driving.

Appears there were no good rear bumpers (the whole cover) that were

used available, so they've ordered a new one from Germany. Should come next week as will the RS Barn exhaust.

Got to say the insurance company sure has been good, cost of repairs must

be what the car is worth. Waiting is a hard thing to do.

So, headers back to the tip will be RS Barn, having M030 sways put in while in

the shop. Its going to feel pretty good when I get her back.

Just rear ended tonight also. The girl was only going about 10 mph though. Her 94 ford escort took the brunt of the impact, bumper destroyed and radiator bent in a half a foot with a lot of fluid loss. My car doesn't look to bad, will post pics tomm, the two bumper plates took the brunt of the impact butthe thing that worries me is that the exhaust pipe took the rest.

The trouble these days is that with such low selling prices it is too easy to total the car. If the estimate is too high then you have to deal with buying back the car and dealing with reduced value and a salvage title.

I recently got stated value of $25,000 to guard against a fender bender turning into a total.

Does not look to bad.
A great chance to get the insurance company to get you an RS Barn exhaust.
Get a high estimat including new bumper cover.
Take the check and have it fixed elsewhere. The cover can be easily fixed.
Keep the change.....

I think the light gap is pretty normal.
There is a write up on here on how to fix it.

My insurance costs $610, but my wife insists on HUGE coverage (amazing what a 140 mph combined head-on will do for your perspective on good insurance coverage).

It doesn’t look bad but its kinda like rust ... there is always more than you can see!

Having been through the same with a BMW that was hit if anything has to be pulled or straightened don’t put yourself through the pain. Let them total it and go find a nice straight car. You will be happier in the long run.
