Ready for the Showroom

"am in Guelph (that is pronounced GWELF) in Ontario, Canada .... about 1 hour (1/2 hour in the 968 !) from Toronto. Any other 968 Forum members 'up' this way?"

Bracer - I am often in your area and will be there on Monday - Tuesday coming. Have a business in Toronto but live in Nova Scotia. Often go from Toronto to Waterloo. We should get together for a brewski.
lol - and an audio recording
I will be taking the under car photos back at the exhaust shop on Saturday morning and I will post them soon after.

As for the exhaust recording ????? I have a Sony Handycam that does video and audio, but it is nothing special. Is this even worth trying? I could do some driveway idle and revving shots/recordings, and I may be able to convince my wife to record me taking off from a stop, passing by her and perhaps coming towards her while gearing up and down? I don't mind trying this at all, but are there any tips on this?

If this works and the files are big, I will probably post on my web site as either inline or downloadable video files, and then post a link to it on this thread.

anything is better than nothing - as for tips, try it a couple of times to find the right distance, and from a slight angle to prevent the air pulse from hitting the microphone

i am REALLY looking forward to this - timing is good too - i was just about to add back in the oem cat

Sorry .... the exhaust shop was too busy on Saturday. All his hoists were in use. I am going to try again tomorrow (Wednesday), and I will take a shot at doing the video/sound recording too. Stay "tuned" (ha, could't resist).

Had a chance today to go to the exhaust shop. "Pete" was very obliging, and put my car back up on the hoist so I could take some pictures. Again, due to file sizes and number of pictures, I have posted them on my company web site at Applied Biomechanics - 968 Gallery

okee dokee - looks like glass packs behind the stock resonator - gonna have to work on that one for most of us who are not running the stock exhaust anymore

thanks for the shots - that still helps

Good job Bracer! I like your exhaust modification just fine. Good luck, Bob Blackwell.

love the look - of course want to hear the sound - just worried about midrange torque loss we have seen from EVERY setup other than the rs barn - maybe we can get some timed 3k up runs to do some comparisons

i really want the dual setup though, so i am probably going to have to start crunching numbers and calculate flow and such to figure out what to do - there are a couple of problems for most of us - generally we don't have the resonator anymore - that makes dual pipes an issue because without the resonator up front, there probably won't be enough back pressure to maintain torque, and i don't think there is room in the tunnel for 2 resonators

i'll poke around with this in the next few days and see what i can come up with

back to bracer's car though

LOVE THE LOOK!!!

I just checked the pictures I posted on my web site and noticed that the new pictures loaded much smaller than the previous set.

I have fixed that, and all pictures including the exhaust pictures show at full size and resolution now.
nice car! but where are the interior shots?? <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
It was a great Thanksgiving Day today here in Ontario (Canada)....I know a little early for my American friends, but we give thanks for all of the wonderful freedoms and way of life that our two countries have in common. 25 degrees outside (Celcius ... about 77 F) and it gave me a good opportunity to take some interior pictures.

Again, I took way too many to post her so you can find them on my web site at Applied Biomechanics. As you can see, I have not installed the 993 wheel and air bag yet. Waiting to get the wheel back from the machine shop .... thanks again to Biotechee and Anchorman for their help with that one.
