968 timed up and ready to drive
#1

Here is me washing the Porsche the morning after we got it home. We did test drive it before purchase but decided not to crank it again until the belts had been replaced. Better to err on the side of caution!

Well, nothing you probably haven't seen before. Starting the reassembly process. BTW the red dots are not ours! They were left there by the previous shop during a T-belt service. My father would never go painting on timing gears- he is too fanatical!!!

I like the trailer

Folks, I watched this new 968er from the day he arrived into this world. His father and I have raced together for many years and the three of us took a road trip to purchase this very nice example.

BTW, my trailer...

The car seems very practical for me. I was a little questionable about the power of the 968, but once I started driving it I realized the car has respectible power and torque for an N/A four cylinder. The car is perfect for me, its not a museum peice but it also is not anywhere near a peice of crap. It was a big change from a 97 vr6 jetta though, haha. Im going to start looking for a catback (hopefully used), some lightweight wheels, and other little mods here and there.

Sounds a bit like the commercial/advertising campaign that didn't survive the cutting room floor:

Porsche, there is no substitute.
It is not anywhere near a piece of crap.

Nice looking car. As you noted, power is very respectable for a 4 banger, thats not to mention the age of the car. ant it only gets faster as you add in your goodies.

Looks like the price was pretty steep though, looks like he took the shirt off your back. Underwear and shoes too!

Hilarious! I wanted to take offense to your price comment until a friend of mine pointed out that you were referring to the picture of my son washing his car. LOL!!! Great humor!!! BTW, you need to sharpen your powers of observation. The underware is still there (look closely - they're blue!!!). 968ers Dad
