reading the CEL codes
#1

Using the CEL diagnostic methods I got a code of 1-2-2-1 meaning a loose connection on the AFM. This was removed to get the deposits from the engine and a loose connection made sense. I think I got them all tightened and cleaned. Two questions:

1. On another forum I read a method to test the AFM but it seems to be unique to 944s as they described 4 connectors and my car has 6. Any testing ideas?

2 I heard that a way to reset the CEL codes is to turn the key to on (not start) and floor the throttle for 30 seconds. This is similar to reading the codes where the throttle is floored for 3 seconds and then backed off. Anyone ever tried this?
