New Product on market to get the test codes
#1

I saw an ad on Face Book and looked into the product. It is called FIXD. It will only work on newer cars from 1996 and newer. But I wrote to the company before I knew the cutoff date was 1996. They wrote back saying it might work on earlier cars. The device is cheap, only 56 for one, $44 for two etc. I ordered mine, but they are back ordered so I expect mine in about 2-3 weeks. It works in conjunction with a smart phone app. Hold your phone near the device which is plugged into the terminal, and it translates the codes into English right on the phone. In addition you can shut of the annoying light on the dash. Hey for $44 it is a steal. I have nothing to do with the company.

It would have to come with the round Porsche ODB1 connector for it to work.

it will not work on the Porches from 1995 or before, but will work on newer manufactures  from 1996 to present. So Flash is good with his new Targa :whine:

for OBD2 cars (>1995) the Durametric cable works well.  I have one for my Cayenne.

And Flash's Targa is long gone...

I have an adapter plug which converts to OBD II, but my OBD II diagnostic device does not work on my 1994.  How does one shut off that air bag sensor light ?

Durametric will turn it off, I bought a usb 19pin connector from a online company and a version of durametric v5 I think

This works on a laptop, nothing spectacular but it reads the codes and resets the air bag lights for about 25 dollars

Took me 2 years to find a Bosch Hammer for sale, then it needed a cable. I sourced from the UK

Love it, tells lots of info and clears codes.
