PUMP up the volume
#81

Here on the east you can only stay at speed with the few and far between express ez pass lanes. Go fast through a regular ez pass lane and they send you a warning that threatens to take your pass away. Been there done that. One of the problems in Pa. Is that they don't uniformly place the ez pass booths at all exits. So you never know where they are going to be and whether right left or in the middle. Part of it is that there are still unionized toll employees to factor in. I think if you want to drive the state should mandate ez pass through its regulatory powers. It will be inconvenient for some and I generally don't support this type of gov't intrusion, but a lot of time and gas is wasted in lines to pay tolls

Gas seems to have settled in at around $4.89 a gallon for 91 octane here in socal (Orange County area). Time to look for a job closer to home...

they say it will come down 15 cents or so by the end of the week. i expect it will stay above $4 forever though. this is a pattern that is easy to follow.

the upside is that, even though i don't care what the price of gas is, i now find myself grouping my runs together to economize anyway. the hidden added bonus is that i spend less time stuck in traffic.

Me, too. I think that has become very common practice, which has probably led to some of the decline (or at least slowing in the rate of increase) in demand for gas.
