Wheel recovery near San Francisco or Sac
#1

I am having a hard time selling my spare set of 968 wheels so I am considering keeping them.

So now I am contemplating having them cleaned up.

Anyone know of someone who could do this localy? ie: San Fran or Sac

Wheel Techniques (http://www.wheeltechniques.com/) has shops in Sacramento and Santa Clara. I have no affiliation with them, but I used their Santa Clara shop on a couple occasions and was very happy with their work.

If you’re familiar with the Babblers website (http://www.babblers.org/index.php?), there is a Recommendations page that includes comments from several others who have used Wheel Techniques. You have to be a registered user to view the recommendations. Consensus of the recommendations is that WT does good work, but can be a little slow.

Good luck.

I don't want to sell them for less than $500 and I have only gotten a few bites but not buyers.

Then they are priced more than the market will bear.

List them on ebay.

I used these guys to repair a badly damaged wheel on my Lexus and they did an amazing job. No remnants of the deep gouges and a perfect paint match.

They are franchises so results may vary.

Yes, unfortunately, these wheels, as nice as they are and getting harder to find, are not worth as much as we like to think they...kinda like our entire car!! <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/tongue.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

I'd take them to clean up/repaint/resell, but shipping costs would negate any chance I'd have of recouping my time and investment...

This is why it makes sense to me to just keep em. I'll decide what to do with them after I have another 968.

A buddy of mine told me about this company. I am not sure about their workmanship because I have not used them yet. My friend said they do good work though.

They are in Hayward. Not quite SF or Sac but still with in driving distance.
