I currently have an antifreeze leak that I am researching. Fortunately, it is not from the water pump, but from one of the hoses that runs from the water pump to, what appears to be an air/water cooler. Unfortunately, I cannot find the cooler or the hoses in any catalogs; nor, did Pelican have any idea.
The cooler appears to be all aluminum, is about 12 inches X 6 inches X 1 inch thick. The cooler is mounted horizontally just below and to the passenger side of the water pump. Access to this cooler is from the underside of the car.
The cooler is in plain view once you drop the belly pans off the car. the hose that is leaking appears to be about 3/4" OD and runs from the cooler up to a flanged side port on the water pump. The port on the pump is located on the front of the water pump but to the passenger's side of the pulley. There are two bolts that hold the flanged hose to this port. I'm certain that there is a gasket also. At the cooler end of the hose, the same type of bolted flanged fitting is used. The hose is about 12 inches long and transitions into crimped fittings that have the flanges mentioned above, soldered in place.
Sorry that I don't have a picture, but I really need to source the hose and the gaskets. I guess that my alternative would be to have a new hose made up using the old fittings. Has anyone had any success with that type of repair in the past?
Thanks in advance.
Ernie
