There is a high end guy that does a lot of custom work in the Scottsdale airpark. His name is Ken Rosegay, his shop is Zuffenhausen Motors. He's usually booked up about 2 months out. (He works by himself) 480-991-2377. I'd recommend him for anything you're willing to spend the money on him for. He reminds me of the mechanic from the Seinfeld episode that didn't think Jerry was treating his car well enough so he wouldn't give it back to him.

For normal stuff, I take mine to the Import Car Corner on Cave Creek, a little south of Cactus. I've been a couple times (had the clutch and brakes done) and they've seemed very honest. 602-997-8082

If you can locate Dan Warner in the Phoenix area, he is the preeminant waterpumper guy in the area. I used to work for Powerhaus, so it's an inside tip. Also if you are searching for a tuner, track down Chris Carrol and tell him Seth sent you. He can engineer anything you want.

Holy smokes, I used to take my 1987 944 to Ken at Zuffenhousen Motors about 15 years ago!!!!

I now reside in San Diego and have a wonderful Porsche mechanic here. However, I have always had very fond memories of hanging out with Ken while he carefully worked on my treasured 944 in imacculate Guards Red paint.

Back in the day, my office was right next door to Zuffenhousen Motors on Redfield. Ken would charge $75 for an oil change (which was definitely a higher-than-average price). However, it was an incredible "bargain" for the time and care Ken put into this routine service.

Ken's shop was spotless, well organized and just on a completely different level than any place I had seen before (or since!). Also, Ken had a gorgeous 911SC that he bought from Scottsdale Porsche (which he didn't let them lay a finger on). The SC was leaking oil and needed some TLC when Ken picked it up and he quickly remedied all the niggling items that needed his caring hands and attention. When Ken was finished, the SC was an unparalleled example of stunning perfection.

Anyway, if you want one of the finest mechanics that I've ever seen in action, Ken at Zuffenhousen would be a very difficult act to follow. Kudos WYLDCAT on your recommendation!!!
