personalized plates
#21

on my 76 914 i had "notavw"

on my 83 944 i had "nhoth2o"

on my 93 968 i have "9sixty8" since no one seems to know what it is.

i like the "zero 911 envy" but the non-porsche types will be confused

Kim Strong likes it too..[/quote]

ROFL

I've thought about

H8 RAIN

JUST A 4

H20 PMPR

HLO OFCR

2 SLOW

Then I decided I don't really care and could not even tell you what the tag number is on any of my vehicles.

can't believe I just did this, but I ordered another plate, simply because I was thinking way too much about the car's handling and my wallet must have been about $ 90 too heavy ( sheesh, I haven't even had my morning bloody mary yet ..what the heck am I doing ? - somebody stop me ! ) Now I have to decide which one I register to the car this year and which one to put in storage until another year or two when I get bored with the " current one " .

The new one reads: U4ICDRV

I was under the impression that once the plate you chose clears the DMV's online system and they charge you to process the order, that's all there is to it. Wrong ! The software is only capable of rejecting exact duplication of characters and various offensive meanings. I have just received a letter from DMV advising that both my 0911NV , and U4ICDRV requests cannot be processed because they are considered

"look alike" to other existing plates. The letter simply states a look-alike may resemble another plate, even if it's not exactly the same. Arrrgh !

Oh yeah, and credit for the $ 90 I paid for each will be issued in 6-8 weeks ! Funny, did not take them

6-8 friggin' weeks to charge my card for the orders.. that works in a just a few seconds

Oh well, back to the drawing board for another attempt at a new custom plate..

I wonder if IH8DMV might be approved

Interesting, I had U4IC on my wife's for here in Texas for several years (maybe one in ten people could figure out what it meant), without any problems. Good luck finding one that meets the approval of the DMV nannies.

Man, I really need to get with it and have my avatar enlarged (I can already hear the quips flying my way...

I'm sure it wasn't the meaning of euphoria itself which caused the problem, but perhaps it's too close

to another plate which might have something like.. U4ICDR ( on the car of some surgeon who earns seven figures ? ),though the chances of that plate also being on a 968 are pretty slim..

Mark, DMVSUX was another choice.. if I ordered that they might call me this time instead of just writing notes, so I can ask what the heck was wrong with 0911NV ? Maybe they feel it's some reference to Sept 11 ?!
