Performance Chip Installation
#21

Yep, your intake manifold gasket could be leaking.. Another option is to use some propane around the gasket to detect the leak. Use a propane torch, just don't light it. Do this outside and don't smoke..

Hi

I'm a newbie here, trying to change my chip on a Sunday. Problem is, when I try to separate the wiring from the Motronic box, the black casing moves away but the wiring and the clear plastic surround stays put. What do I do to disconnect the wiring harness? Would appreciate a reply asap. Thank you!

press the metal release and the harness connector should rotate out as one unit, opposite end has a pivoting tab. It is somewhat of a snug fit.

when you change the chip, don't bend the pins, you may need the original another day.

Thank you xrad, I responded on the new thread (at the time I wrote this I didn't know how to start a thread here as this was my first post. Thought this one would be buried under other threads). It didn't work out, car won't start with the new chip and it's too dark now. Please respond on the new thread I started if you're interested in this dilemna.
