Pedals
#1

Has anyone switched to aftermarket pedals? Any suggestions?

I'm looking for some new pedals for weekend and street driving. Heel-toe is a little difficult with the stock pedals.

Just wondering if there are any brands that work better than others.

i like the feel of the stock ones, but i plan to push them closer together for that very reason

i have seen plenty of aluminum ones though - some searching should turn them up - try 9xauto

I love the Rennline pedals. They have two stles with rubber traction bumps and without. I have owned many of their products over the years.

I have the Rennline pedals and think they are great. I'm sorry the view is blocked in the picture below, or you would be able to see them.

I'd be interested in switching pedals if I could throw out the stock ones, but... is it just me, or are bolt on pedal covers just a little bit fast and furious?

I built the accel pedal up with two pieces of alum stock then placed a generic rubber pad over the top piece of 3 by 1/4 in stock. The lower piece was bolted to th original P pedal, the top one was adjusted to my desired location and the two bolted together with countersunk bolts . I like the accel level when the brake pedal is fully depressed. Not real high tech, but it works and is cheap !!. Never had any problem and much easier to roll your foot. I used this setup on both the 911 and the S2. A heel stop helps a lot also.. Hope this helps.

Has anyone had any success modifying the pedal setup so that it can accommodate a better heel/toe application. I had the opportunity to track my car today and realized that the current pedal setup does not accommodate this technique very well.

I am interested in someones mods or aftermarket solutions. I would really like to change the setup so that it would make it easier to learn this technique next time I venture onto the track. Even modifying the existing setup would help greatly.

I look forward to some feedback.

I have the Rennline pedals in my S2 and they are nice but I would never get the ones with the rubber inserts again. Anything - water, oil on your shoes and they slip right off until they dry. It rains a lot here and it's embarassing when your foot slips off the clutch during a shift. My sons just says I don't know how to drive - his bruises are healing nicely, thanks for asking

I haven'y put a set in the 968 yet as I really want the firewall mat to match but Rennline says they won't make one, only 911, grrr

never have to worry about your foot ( or FUTZ, which I guess is the plural of foot ..)

Heel-toe has a couple of meanings for us drummers, but it's basically the same thing.

I have the Stable Energies (safety shop in NJ) pedals and really like them. They are textured for non-slip. The gas pedal is 1/2 inch wider to make heel/toe easier since the pedals are closer together.

If you find the brake pedal is too high, gas pedals with extensions are available. Not sure exactly what issue you are having that makes it hard to heel/toe.

In my race car: http://www.rennline.com/Rennline-Rev2-Ga...nfo/A12.1/

Absolutely love them (matching brake and clutch). Have been using for 3 years with lots of abuse....

I put the adjustable Rennline pedals in my cars (968 and 924) years ago and love them. My brother ran the water-jet for them and used to hook me up with really good deals.
