PCA Concours/968 GTG 9/21
#21

The event is sure to be a great time with many great cars and folks.

The dealership posted more details and photos from last year's event.

Yeah.......

I will hold my breath on the olive branch.

I would not consider it peaceful, when one of them is a hot head.

I may not be the most considerate person, but I have never taken any of it personally or threatened

anybody because of their online personality. In fact I usually have a laugh about it all, and take it as joke.

Disagreeing, arguing and acting like spoiled little children is one thing (myself included), but when it comes down to

threatening someone, everything changes.

I just had to mention this because I have bitten my tongue long enough,

and really needed to get this off my chest.

It is not the first time I have received such messages.

I had considered contacting the police, but I am not a snitch.

I feel very compelled to post the messages I have gotten form this individual.

The people who run the place where it happened kinda made a joke about the whole thing

and brushed it aside.

Some people take things way to seriously. I mean its just a car and someones opinion, and people get so bent out of shape.

(Although I do know some of the history about this individuals hatred for certain products and the people who support them.)

I think alot of these quarrels happen because there is something missing in the written word, and it is easy to take cheap shots

from behind a keyboard.

I am surprised at how many PM's I have received from people asking who it is. Most seem to have been able to connect the dots.

Anyhow I will be there drenched in olive oil more than likely looking at 911's.

Jeff- you really got a ringer there with your cab! Are you in the concours event?

Thanks, the color is wild enough. You should see the $4190 optional full leather interior with sport seats!!! It was love at first site as I'm sure it was with your new ride.

Smoke-

Sounds like it will be a nice time. The only thing I don't really like about the 997 and beyond 911's is the physical size of the body and the wheels. They seem sooo much bigger when compared to a 993. And I think they look stupid with 19 and 20" wheels. Same goes for Caymans and Boxsters- 19" is too big. 18" seems about right.

Jeff-

I sneaked a few peeks while I was at Hershey this year. Truly an awesome car you have there.

I hope to get into a 993 sometime soon. I have been looking at some nice C4S's lately.

never been a 911 guy of any type, but i have caught myself a couple of times looking at a 996 turbo in that dark grey metallic with black tinted windows - then of course i sit in the danged thing and remember why i don't have one, and why i like the 968 better

i totally agree on the 19" wheel thing - i hate having them on the M3 - trying like heck to convince ayn to let me swap them out for 18s

Back to the thread topic, again, those interested, please join your fellow PCA 968ers this Sunday in NJ (and don't forget the 968 celebration in New Mexico).

Thanks for the event post.

Ginger,

I saw that the blackhorse event was cancelled, too bad. Thanks for the well wishes. Hopefully the rain is all done. Check the register web site in a week or so for photos of this week's events.

Folks ! REALLY !

We know that there is tension between the ladies and gentlemen that visit here and certain distasteful characters at other sites. I suppose it is a hazard of this community that if you follow the goings on in multiple forums, that you need to use your best judgement in sorting the wheat from the chafe. These differences are deeply embedded, have become highly personal, and will probably never be solved as long as there is more than one 968 left on Earth.

Bottom line, we have all been to Hershey at the same time and nothing ever happened. Personally, I was able to meet and chat wiith those people I wanted to associate with, and ignored those who I didn't care to spend time with, nothing happened, there was no confrontation, and I would be shocked if one were to ever occur. I have never regretted attending any gathering.

Everyone, go to the events. This is the best opportunity to meet others who share your passion.

Regards,

Jay

i couldn't agree more - events like these are excellent ways to meet people who share your interests, and to find out what a person is really like, aside from their online persona

as always, jay is one to avoid confrontation - i can respect that - i am one to want to fix things, and right wrongs - i live for causes - we both want the same things (peace amongst the community) - we just approach it from two different perspectives

i think everybody agrees that things have gotten way out of hand - one thing is for sure though, if it doesn't get fixed, patched, or public apologies aren't offered for the federally felonious written physical threats, and the nonsense bickering doesn't stop, one of these days somebody is going to lose it, and the police are going to get involved - it can't go on forever without it boiling over - somebody is going to explode - it isn't going to just "go away" either - none of this is in the best interests of the community, and it needs to be fixed

events like this one are perfect opportunities to mend fences - i think everyone involved should make every effort to do exactly that
