Spent the weekend at Barber motorsports with the PBOC. Saturday was rainy and cold day and a number of cars slammed the armco pretty hard. Spins were everywhere, just ask Charles who was busy testing the limits of his car <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/blink.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
Sunday was fantastic, sunny and cool. Traction was a bit scetchy in the morning but the afternoon sessions were fantastic. I managed to set a new personal best lap time of 1:45:xx (sorry no lap timer, measured from video and a stopwatch) and was consistantly running 1:46's and 47's. All in all I couldn't be happier with my little hybrid.
So, what difference does dropping a 968 engine into a 924S make. Well just before the swap my best runs for in the 1:51+ range so that makes for about 6 seconds at this point. Clearly this does not control for the fact that I have had more seat time since then and for the upgraded front brakes (just about everthing else is the same). I can't wait for next month when I put the car on Road Atlanta where HP is more critical. There I was running 1:51-1:52, I'm hoping for 1:41 next month. Time will tell.
