Well, I went up and met Ross tonight and saw his new ride. Very nice car and Ross is a great guy. It is great to have another 968 only 10 minutes from my house!!! The car looks great Ross. You've got some work to do but it is a great color and will be nice when you are done. Feel free to give me a call anytime you need some help. Here's a photo link of 2 968s tonight in Monroe CT.

Do you have info on how many Tip's in Cabs vs Coupes?????
Pete
Pete,
Very interesting, so all tips have LSD. Cool for them. I guess that is the least they could do for the extra $5K on the sticker.
Surprisingly, I thought there would be many more tips out there in cabs but right now, of the cabs regsitered (of 2008 total) 462 are 6 speeds and 196 are tips. I would have guessed more tip cabs when I started. Graham's coupe numbers are even more, 430 6 speeds vs 88 tip coupes.

Thanks Jeff for stopping by with your son and your baby. When I saw how nice your car was I wanted to put mine back in the garage. I have a call in with Larry at Fairfield Porsche to give me a quote on the timing belt and rollers plus the water pump. I thought the $1800.00 quote from the independent was a little high but I guess we'll see. It's always good to get a couple of quote. Boy I'm inching to drive her but I guess I just shouldn't take the chance.
Thanks again
Ross

That is way to much, I wouldn't use the dealer for work on the car. Most dealers don't know how to work on cars older then a Boxster, and there price sometimes reflect that. I'm sure Jeff968 your neighboor over there could suggest a shop. By the way I was CT born and raised, up in Somers..

Wow!!! Did you tell them you wanted a gold plated water pump? I guess its the increase in fuel prices????

Well I thought Fairfield had the old guys to do the job. I want to thank Jeff for doing the ground work to help me get this done. Larry, at Porsche, told me that special tools were required and that they have to drop the front end of the motor to do the belts and rollers. He said it was twelve hours labor and parts were $1700.00. Only you guys would know if that is horse hockey or not. I have the son of the former owner going through his dads papers this weekend in AZ. To see if he can find a record of a timing belt change after 1995. If not she is off to get it done on Wednesday next. I'm so paranoid I am having it flat bedded. I won't even drive it the 5 miles to the shop.
On the short parade here in town..............Love to have anyone who wants to show up. Exit 9 RT 84 in CT. About twenty five thousand people come to watch it. The length of the parade is probably 2 miles but it takes 4 hours from beginning to the end. The Mummers the Shrinners all sorts of bands and lots of cars of all ages. Maybe I'll even let Joe Lieberman back in this year. Boy was he pissed at me in 06.............Think about it? Maybe we can have a picnic or something?
Thanks again folks

Well she's home...............It was a little rough on the o'l pocket book but I sure shouldn't complain. I did get a great deal and after the exspenses it still is a good deal on her. I used Performace Imports in Danbury. I guess the local Porsche dealer sends the older and rarer cars to them. What great people to deal with. Real big on customer service. He has 4 968 customers now so he know his way around them. I can't say enogh about these folks. If you drive anything German and live close to Danbury CT. check them out..........Performace Imoprts Machael Burg........203-744-2722 After the timing belt he did a well need tuneup, and front wheel bearings right side inner and outer. He remarked that the motor mounts need doing down the road and the AC doesn't work. Again thanks AJ Porsche of CA for taking my money and not doing the PPI I paid for. I drove her home last night using the Tiptronic paddle shifter. Hey thats fun. The automatic in drive mode wants to go into 4 th gear for gas millage and makes a boring drive. The Tiptronic is a real hoot. Same as a 4 way without the clutch..............I like it.
Let the adventures begin
Definately me new favorite color.
Thanks..............She even looks better in person. I can't believe she isn't a repaint. I got her in right near you. The AJ Porsche place near you didn't do a great job doing the PPI for me. Nice people but...............

I had a slate grey 964 Cab a few years back, definitely one of my all time favourite Porsche colours, it really makes the most of the curves on the car..
