Hahaha. The only things I have replaced on my own in this car - some with much needed instructions by phone from flash or from my mechanic -have been :

Replaced starter

Installed short shift kit

Replaced distributor cap

Replaced SC oil reservoir banjo fittings and hoses

Replaced spark plugs

Replaced exhaust tip

Installed strut tower brace

Replaced MAF

Replaced battery

Replaced transmission sych gears

Replaces pinion bearing


Ok, fine..I may have "exaggerated" the extent of the DIY on those last two..


But the above is just about the extent of my mechanical aptitude :-)

Changed fog light bulbs

Replaced all the suspension

Refurbed all the calipers

Replaced every engine oil seal

Replaced fuel lines

Replaced brake lines (hard)

Replaced discs

Replaced soft brake hose with stainless

Rebuilt starter

Rebuilt alternator

Rebuilt ABS pump

Rebuilt steering pump

Rebuilt steering rack

Replaced all body rubbers

Replaced top mounts

Replaced wheel bearings

Replaced belts rollers and water pump

Rebuilt clutch master and slave

Replaced clutch



Only thing I could not do myself was the geo on the car and new tyres


Still got a few things to do yet, next year head gasket and head rebuild and paint work so far I have spent less than $3000

Ok, one time I found a loose vacuum hose, and I installed the SS door sills.
