Hello,

I recently bought a 94 968 Cab and have been doing a bunch of different things to it in order to get it up to snuff. I had posted some questions over at R.L., and a member here said I needed to become a member as many of my 968 questions could be answered here.

I live in Austin TX and while relatively new to Porsches, I have REALLY gotten a crash course in them. It started with joining a race team for Chumpcars and we run an 88 924S. Because we have done so much work on it and because the other team members have 944 Turbos, Boxsters, etc. I have gotten to know these cars pretty well/quickly.

I also picked up a 90 944 S2 Cab for my wife a few months ago and have gotten that pretty well sorted (I think at least - just finishing what I hope is the last issue with a new slave cylinder for the clutch).

Thanks !

Ken

Welcome!

You live in Austin... that is one very cool F1 track in your "neck of the woods"!

Another 968 in Austin? I was under the impression that there was a quota of something like two, which has been keeping any more from entering our fine city <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/tongue.png" class="smilie" alt="" />

What part of town do you live in? I'm southwest, near Brodie and Slaughter.

And yes, the Circuit of the Americas is definitely an amazing venue - I'd love to drive it someday. I saw a nice blue cab in the parking lot on Friday - could it have been yours by any chance?

Small World!! Circle C - you in Shady Hollow?

Mine is Black so couldn't have been me, but there are definately several around town. My friend got invited to drive the track in a Cadillac CTS-V in a month or so - should be lots of fun! He has put several crate LS motors in different cars so the dealer is hooking him up!

Yep, Shady Hollow. Before the one I saw at COTA, it had been years since I've seen another 968. But then, mine has been out of comission and out of sight in the garage for over a year and a half as I've been pecking away at my project to make it more track worthy. With any luck, I'll have the last of my parts back from the machine shop by tomorrow, which will allow me to put the front suspension back on, fire up the engine, and hopefully get it back on the road (and the track). That is, if nothing blows up or spews fluid of some kind all over my garage!
