I need new tires for my KIA Sedona. Any recommendations as to the brands? It is a 235/60 R17 size which seems to be an not so popular size. The original Bridge-stones have 17,000 miles on them and have about 4,000 miles left on them. I drove over something which sliced the tire across the entire width. OK to drive on now but may not be so great later on which is why I am thinking of changing them now. don't want a blow out.

It really depends on what kind of driving you are doing and if you are looking for all-seaons or change out the tires for the winter. Tire Rack has a lot of great information and tire reviews, and would probably be a good place to start.

I just spent about 6 hours researching tires for my 968 and ended up with Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Specs (Extreme Performance Summer Tires).

I am an Ultra High Performance Tire Education Specialist for Bridgestone Americas.

Bridgestonetire.com has a tire advisor available. It will ask you questions like: do you need this tire for winter/snow, dry grip, wet grip, fuel economy & others. It also rates the tires strength in the different catagories, 1-10



If I had more info we could get the best tire for you. One of our newest tires in that size for your Kia is a Dueler Ecopia 422. The rolling resistence has been improved by around 40%. That translates into about 5% better gas mileage.

Please do not compare the OE tire because these are built with the OE manufaturers direction.



I think a better choice for the 968 in the Max Performance catorgory is the Potenza RE-11. The strong points of that tire over its competition is the assemtrical tread pattern & casing shape. This tire & others like it from Bridgestone can be rotated from side to side. This will help keep it quiet & wear even through out its tread depth. Our competitors tires if directional, do not have that option.

I currently have SUMITOMO



front are 225/45ZR17 94Y



rear are 255/40ZR17 94Y



I do not find them particular sticky but they are wearing well



On my original 924 with the special suspension tires it came with Perelii P4 if I remember correctly. They were very sticky and gave me approximately 20-25,000 on each set.



What is a good sticky all season tire with good rain shedding tires as I live in Oregon where we get a lot of rain?

Summer tires have much better grip & feel than All Season tires. Summer tires (Bridgestone & other top brands) have better grip in the rain than AS tires. The issue & major difference is the temperature range. Summer tires grip level drops off in temperatures around the mid 30's. It does not mean when it drops below 40 the car jumps at the ditch. They also do not have sipes to grip ice & snow.

If you are not driving in the snow, stay with summer tires. I promote winter tires & summer tires, AS tires are a compromise all year round. Cars in Europe do not use AS tires.

I have been using Bridgestones for quite a while.....Not the Max performance ones but the Potenza 950s. Will be needing to replace the rears soon and looking at the 960s. Also looking at the recently introduced Continental ExtremeContact DW. The DW are lighter by and have similar tread wear ratinngs with th 960. Any one with experiences??

I have a 1990 Isuzu Trooper w/ 330,000+ miles. (My favorite ride; I plan to be buried in it). I have used Bridgestone Dueler HL's for years. They are quiet on the road, grippy, and have a decent sidewall. I highly recommend them if you do not plan any offroad adventures. Don't know if they still make them, but they are worth a look. They are a little pricey though. They are SUV tires, but they may have a minivan equivalent.

I remeber when Bridgestone first bought firestone an dhad to deal with the SUV / tire blow out problem (if I recall correctly). Stay with their products ever since. Also put Bridgestones (Costco) tires on girlfriend's car. Nissanite, how do you compare tires form Bridgestoen vs, Firestone?
