Hi all,
I'm Michael, from Chigwell, Essex. I don't have a 968 yet but I've finally got to a point where I can start looking, so I'm off to see a '94 Sport at the weekend. I was given a ride in a friend's one years ago and can still vividly remember the feeling of being pinned to the seat when he demonstrated the acceleration and being pinned to the seatbelt when he demonstrated the stopping ability!

Welcome Michael,
The 968 is the greatest Porsche ever built, but of course we are a bit biased.
When you find the right "Sport" we will demand many pictures.

Hi all,
Thanks for the warm welcome
So far so good, the car looks worth pursuing so I've put a holding deposit on it for now. Next step is to organise an independent specialist inspection - the long Bank Holiday weekend is killing me The test drive was interesting, my dad and girlfriend came with me as extra pairs of eyes so we all piled in. I know that they're 2+2 rather than 4-seaters, but I never appreciated just how little room there is in the back of these things - I've never had to literally fold myself into a back seat before!

Hi all,
Well, that was a mercifully short search - the inspection came back clean, so I pulled the trigger and brought it home today. It's actually a '95 model built in late '94. The journey home was fun - twisty A-roads to start with, where the car instantly 'made sense', followed by a nice run down the motorway. There are a few niggles to be sorted, mainly electrical and sunroof-related, but overall I'm very happy. The only trouble now is that I can see my beloved Beetle getting less use...!

Yeah, I think I got lucky with this one. I drove it into work today and got plenty of admiring glances from the other petrolheads
The Beetle is a 1973 GT Beetle - another UK-only special edition

I'm doing well so far, despite me being extremely careful having read how it can happen, both sunroof gears stripped the second time I opened it and the odometer and trip meter both died when I reset the trip meter this morning! Old cars eh? Thank Heaven for this place!
