New Member in Philly

Hi,

I'm looking at purchasing a 968.   I used to own a beautiful 944 S2 Cab but that was quite a few years ago.   I still own a 1980 911 SC Targa.   It's a fun car but I always enjoyed the 944 on longer trips.

All the best

Dave

Just make sure you don't buy one with the airbag light on! they are almost impossible turn off.

Dave,

Welcome! I used to be from Philadelphia many years ago and I have always longed for a 911 SC (my 968 is also not for sale and no trades either)... I like cabs, not as much targas...but, after all these years they're growing on me. Hope you find the right 968.

Thanks for the kind words.   There are two 968's near me that I'd like to take a look at.   The higher mileage one has an odometer problem according to carfax.   Unfortunately, that dealer's website link to the carfax is down.    When I spoke to him about it, he said it was just a recording error made at the state.   I think he's probably right.

I see they are both red, if they have not been repainted the current single coat will be getting mighty thin

due to all the polishing the single stage paint needs to stop it going pink,

so if the advert says repainted, that's a big plus not a minus

BTW, I really looking for a clean cab or coupe with a manual transmission but I prefer a cab.   I just think they're prettier than the coupes.   I don't care about miles as much as condition and maintenance records.    I'll drive it a lot.

I've never owned a car that fit me as well as that 944 S2.   I bought that car with about 80,000 miles on when it was around 12 years old.   I put 30,000 miles on it in two years and loved every minutes of it.
