Hi,

This is Frank from Vancouver. I am just trying to gain information about the 968. I had a '86 911 many years ago and am looking at getting a P-Car again as a 2nd car. Not sure if the 968 is for me or not.

Thanks,

Frank

Welcome Frank. There are certainly more differences than similarities between the 911 and 968, but this is a great place to find out what they are. Aside from our fore-engined bias, there are many members willing to help, and we always like to see someone join the fold.

Welcome Eh! Hopefully Langley968 will chime in here and impart some sage advice; maybe show you a live car so you can get your feet wet and a decision made.

Welcome to the forum. The only way you will know if to find a good car and go for a drive. Your butt-o-meter is normally a great indicator. We obviously feel that the 968 is the best of its breed. As a drivers car, it is probably better than a 911 as it has less flaws and is more practical too boot.

Good luck with your quest, regardless of which way you choose to go.

Welcome. Enjoy your search and be patient. Don't fall for the first middle aged queen. Take the make up off and see her in the sunlite! Anyone you think of buying should have a PPI done. Well worth the investment and might save you $ and aggravation in the future.

Welcome Frank! I live in Langley, so if you want to meet up for a coffee and see my 968 and hear my input, send me a PM. There is a nice looking 968 Coupe (Polar Silver) for sale on the local Craigslist.

Tama,

Coming from someone who has a Red 968 as well?

Each colour has its day. I can't talk, mine is black. Even through there are some interesting colours out there, there was not enough brave soles to buy them.

Better a silver 968, than no 968 at all.

Polar Silver:

Girls say - "That's a "pretty" color"

Guys say - "That a "cool" color"

= a "Win Win" situation

Welcome, and good luck making your decision. If you liked the 911, think you'll love the 968. In my opinion a much better car. As others have said, just make sure you take your time to get a good one. Or if you can't find a sweet one, at least with a PPI, your expectations will be set.

Langley, which planet do they say that on? Girls don't say pretty they say cute. Clearly you have become somewhat long in tooth! Lol how do I know this? I'm surrounded by them and tortured all the time. Oh Bob that's so cute, gee you have a cute house, such a cute red car. Well they are right about the car but Tama understands.

With four daughters, a wife and an ex, I can attest that girls say "cute".

But let's all look back a few posts and remember that Rap was the one that called all you silver-owners "poor"! Doh!

At least silver doesn't attract "The Man" as much as Gaurd's Red - lol
