an interesting system... but there's just something about buying a set of keys from a seller named "Steal my car" that makes me feel a bit uneasy...

bad marketing there

Looks interesting, it even has a LED light in it. Would need to buy a couple of key blanks and modify them though. I agree it's a bad company name..

Looks just like the key fob for VW Jettas (which I happen to have).

You press the little silver button and the key blank flips out. Kinda cool, but the fob weighs a ton and it is too bulky for my liking. One of the gripes I have with my VW... I'm a simple guy when it comes to keys- the less/less bulky I have the better.

When I look at my Jetta fob, it appears that the actual blank can somehow be removed and replaced. Based on that and the knowledge of what a Porsche blank looks like within the lighted Porsche key, I think one could make the mod work, key-wise. But not me.

I went ahead and purchase the product and here are pix of the finish key FOB. It's actually a great product and easy to install. It allows to lock unlock all doors and trunk with the parking lights blinking for confirmation. I think its a worthwhile upgrade and an easy mod.

did you just have the key blank cut any your friendly neighborhood hardware store?

I like this idea a lot, especially as the car I'm picking up apparently only has one key that's not in the best of shape. A fresh key would be nice.

Final cost when all is said and done?

+1 on being interested. What was involved on the installation and the creation of the keyfob?

Very simple mod and you can find the instruction here on the site on the install of the keyless system. It took me less than an hour to complete the whole project. The final cost was $89.95 for the system including shipping, and $3.95 per key cut at your local hardware store ( Osh, home depot, etc..). The system comes with a template for the key mod. I used a regular hack saw and file to make the mod. It took about 7 min per key.

maybe I missed something...

what is it that you had to cut up with the hacksaw/file?

If you look at the 2nd thumbnail, it shows the key that was cut by the Osh and the template that you need to copy. You will need a dremmel or hacksaw to trim the head of the key and duplicate the template. A file is helpful to finish it off if you are using a hacksaw

oh, gotcha... I figured you just had osh cut into a metal blank that they provided... didn't realize you just had a generic key made then cut it to fit

I'm gonna order one... don't like having to open the door with the key... I'll post a review when it shows up

mine showed up today... got one key cut... took quite a while with the dremel(would have gone much faster if I had the correct cutting wheel)... next step is the wiring

Were you guys able to install this keyless system so that in addition to locking/unlocking the doors it would also arm/disarm the factory alarm system?

it was my understanding that the factory alarm system arms/disarms with the door locks...

basically, this all wires in to the alarm brain, and just sends a signal to unlock/lock the doors.

When I unlock the doors, the interior lights come on, etc... acts just like before.

When I lock the doors, everything locks, and the red led in the door lock starts flashing... just like before

All in all, I'm very happy with it

Well the issue I am having with my UNGO keyless system is that the installer was only able to make it lock/unlock the doors, but the alarm system is not activated and nor do the leds flash. Does anyone have instructions on how to wire this up, as it is bascially useless this way.

Update, I took the car in to have my Nav system installed, and asked them to try and fix the keyless issue. It worked for the first day but has since stopped working totally, when I press the button to lock or unlock nothing happens, I can hear faint clicking as if it want to lock but won't. To complicate matters, now the key won't even work to lock the doors, and the only way to lock the doors is to hit the central lock button (with passenger door open) and then shut the door, only seems to work from passenger side.

Help?

Great Find! I just checked the ebay auction site and the seller is either no longer selling them or doesn't have any currently listed. Anybody know where else we could find them?

Also, Ron and saxman, how are the key mods holding up after 4 months of use?
