Welcome,

Good luck with your research and your eventual search for a 968. There are plenty of members in your area.

Feel free to read and ask away.

Regards,

Jay

Welcome to the Forum

You want a Porsche. Thats a good start. Realize that they all need maintenance and repairs and the parts come at Porsche prices. Next think about what you want to do with the car. Is it a daily driver, do you want to take it on extended road trips, Driving events, Car shows, Concour, As you look at different models and years figure out where you will have it worked on, or are you a DIY? Newer can be better from the point of view of features, but that comes with a price $ when it breaks and its much harder to DIY.

A lot ( in fact most) of the 968 Forum guys have had Porsche's other than the 968 so this is a great spot to just ask questions and get some discussion going about the good and bad of each.

After having just about every Porsche made since 1960, and I still have a 1972 911 IMSA race car a 993 and the 968, I like the 968 as a road car. Good AC for here in AZ , lots of handy storage ( the rear seats fold down to make it even bigger, cruise control, not much tire noise or exhaust noise and a better ride than the 911 series as it has a longer wheel base.

If you look at this a little bit as an investment, get the copies of Excellence Magazine in the months that review the car prices for each Porsche model. April 2011 had the 944 and 968. The 92 through 94s are actually going up in price.
