Need a part real bad...
#1

The plastic cover that the distributor cap screws into has two of the three holes stripped out. My cap is being held in by only one screw and that scares me!!! <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/sad.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Does anyone have one of these covers that they can sell me/give me and overnight it to me? I'll paypal/check or however you wish.

It scares me driving this thing around with only one screw holding the cap in place...

Michael, is this the distributor cap you need or the part which the cap sits on? I have a spare distributor cap which you are welcome to if that is what you need. Good luck, Bob Blackwell.

Take the bolts and rub wax/candle on the threads or thin layer of WD-40, then mix up some J/B Weld (not J/B quick), and coat the stripped bolts and put them into place as far as they will go. The wax will stop the J/B Weld from bonding to the bolts too well. Let set overnight. All fixed.

J/B Weld is designed for such things. It's been used for alot more critical applications such as on engine blocks. It is great for reforming threads, permanently.
