Not entirely unlike " Champagne " , the U.S. Patent office has just granted a patent and exclusive rights for use of the words Napa / Nappa Valley relative to that region's wine production and to its vintners .

I am sure the word NAPA as in auto parts has received a "grand farther" status and since it has nothing to do with wine will stay.

Not so with Mr. Fred Franzia's miss use of the word NAPA on his mediocre bulk wines for profit. We stopped that game years ago.

Yes, you are right. I was just trying to be polite (LOL) I was in a meeting with him and the Napa Vintners years ago. I will tell the story when we get to Tahoe........he is scary!!!
