Aaron Pott Wines 2014
#1

I have an allocation from Aaron Pott for large format bottles beginning with Magnum @ $295...anyone care to weigh in on the quality/price ratio? My experience with Aaron Potts wines is that they are terrific, but pricey. Still have most of a case of 2012 in my cellar.

Anyone want to venture a guess on the Napa Valley 2014 Vintage year...please don't opine if you think such reports are hogwash.

Thanks,

Jay

I don't know Aaron Pott wines so I can't comment on the wine.

I think the 2014 vintage should be very good. Whether it will be epic or not remains to be seen. Most of the fruit in 2014 was drought impacted which is to say that grape clusters were small with smaller berries, leading to a more concentrated wine if handled properly by the wine maker. Our 2014 reds are still maturing in the barrel, but all tasting pretty darn good.

Think I'll keep my powder dry and spend more $$$ in Portland and Walla Walla.

As a Willamette valley Pinot Noir snob, I think that's a wise choice.  Do you know where to go Jay, or would you like a few suggestions?

PM sent, my schedule is pretty full as I will only be in town for 24 hours, but how can I resist a recommendation from another Pinot Snob?
