Since September I have done the following to my car:

• Overhauled the steering rack
• Replaced the Hall Sender
• Installed the RS Barn cat-back
• Cleaned the MAF
• Cleaned the Idle Control Valve
• Replaced the Temperature sensor

During this time I have not really driven my car other then 1 day in January. But after throwing a involuntary pirouette on the road less than 1Km from my home I promptly took it back to the garage, and waited for the temperature to rise some more. So this past Saturday I finally let it out again.

I loved driving it so much on Saturday, I wanted some more. So this morning I drove it to work, and what a fantastic drive that was too!

I traded my 964 C4 in on my 968 because I needed a more practical toy and even though I liked the 968 I did not love it. I knew from a technical point of view the 968 was superior, but it lacked the 911 character. But today I can honestly say that I love driving and owning this car. It brings such a smile to my face, and I think with the new exhaust the car is come into it's own.

I still miss my 964, but I no longer wish I had it instead of my 968.

So I guess this means that my heart and head is finally in agreement [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif[/img]

Ah, yes, the 968 "smile factor". Sorry it took two years for you to get infected, but welcome. Now you'll never regret the 968 decision. They are great driving cars.

968's are great cars. I dont drive mine much and have contemplated selling it a few times. Can't bring myself to do it. Anytime i feel like selling it, i take it for a spin and any thoughts of getting rid of it go away.

The only way i will get rid of it anytime soon is if i find 1 of 2 Mint Green Coupe's or the black/chestnut MO30 Coupe.

I've had several project cars including 2 other Porsches, a 1st gen BMW M3, & a Corrado SLC VR6. I got tired of all of them and parted ways. I've kept the 968 longer then all of the others combined.

it's amazing at how that happens too - even the slow and heavy tip cab is fun to drive - granted the fact that it is on 17s and has all 3 braces really makes the car feel solid, but every time i drive that car i love it

i am very much looking forward to driving the blue car this spring and summer, especially now that i am throwing so much money at it to bring it up to the level i really want

It's funny, I'm currently driving the 968 as a daily driver, and I'm not tired of it, but I'd rather drive it less, and appreciate it more. I've got that kind of personality that needs to keep things in check so I don't start taking them for granted. I'd rather be beating my Subaru up driving in traffic on busy torn up roads and drive the 968 to really drive it. On the other hand, I did just take the opportunity to remind someone in an M3 that he wasn't in his own league, so maybe I should count my blessings.

lol - yeah - having more than one car, and leaving the 968 for fun driving, has been the key to me maintaining interest peaked

those M3s can be deceiving - an E46 M3 hardtop will outrun a 968 in a straight line by a good amount - even the convertible one we have will outrun a stock 968 in a straight line

now, throw it into some tight curves..............................

After all of the snow we got here in the mid-atlantic region, my Explorer Sport Trac has been my daily driver, but I drove the coupe a few days earlier this week and like alot of us, realize yet again how much fun they are and how much I miss driving it. The cab is still inside, top down, patiently waiting to come back out to play.
