I finaly finished the install of the Design One Super Charge kit. I've finished the break-in miliage and have done about a hundred miles of unrestricted RPM, all I can say is WOW. I'm loving this and can see trouble with the local traffic court people in my futrue. This kit makes the car come alive at all RPM's. I've got a DE in a couple of weeks and can't wait.
The kit is well designed, well thought out, with clear directions and performs as advertised, I'm happy.
A few thoughts on the install. I made several mistakes, all do to being in a hurry.( I had a 3 week , out of country, work trip and wanted to complete the job) Don't hurry, take your time. I pumped most of the Rotex traction fluid out on the floor because I wanted to "SEE" if the fluid was pumping thru-out the system, It pumps and starting the engine and going to look at a disconnected hose resulted in a puddle on tyhe floor. I had to purchase more and It's expensive, so caution.
SC belt on the wrong side of the alterneter, the instructions show the correct way, I just needed to look.
Read the instructions three of four times, it helps.
One pin on the DME chip not in it's pocket, results in a no start, head scratching and removal of the DME again.
A couple of tips. Have the head refurbed with a new head gasket, Injectors cleaned and balanced, all hoses replaces, engine clean and leak free. I did all of this the past winter anticipating the SC install.
Carfull when cutting the "charge pipe adaptor boot" it cuts easy with a sharp knife, if you slip you'll need a new one. I know.
One last thing, If the any of the "intake pipe" hoses want to kink, once kinked they will continue to want to in the same place. Get a loosly wound spring, from ACE or Home Depot. It's OD should match the ID of the hose, Slip it in the hose at the Kink and no more kink.
