I just purchased my 968, and already I am very interested in increasing my bhp. I read on other sites there are promax chips and racer x chips, is either one proven over the other?
-What mods can be done for a relatively low cost to increase hp?
-What is the factory speaker system in this car? Is it 4x6? Has anyone put a better system in their car?
-Are their any companies that make aftermarket products for our car (both external and internal)? ie front valances, sideskirts or grilles?
Thanks for the help!
cheers-
EC

Hi EC,
Welcome.
1. Both chips are well received. I have one and is well worth the expense.
2. stock speakers are either 6 or 10. I replaced the fronts with 5.25 mid base and tweeter. also added subs in the rear wheel wells and amps in the spare wheel well.
3. Try Dave Greiman's website for grills.
There are splitters that looks great on our cars, both fiberglass and PUC.
4. Check the 968.net and the rennlist.org site for additional info.
Luck

EC I recommend the following mods which would be at the top of my list:
Turbo S PU Splitter (Buy the Poly-U, don't waste your money on the Fiberglass version)
M030 Sway Bars
Strut Brace (KLA if you are on a Budget / Dynatech if you have a little extra to spend)
944 Racing Short Shift Kit
Exhaust (I like the sound of the B&B Call at Evo Motorsports in AZ)
That should get you started.

Do you know where I might find a picture of the dynatech strut brace? I can't seem to locate a website for them. Any idea on the price?
Thanks!!

Stunning work!
Entiner the chip had allready been covered so I left it off my list but it would definatley be one of those first mods... that is if the turbo conversion did not make it there first

Eric-
I hate to make you retype answers to questions that have been posted many times before, is there already a thread I can read about the turbo conversion?
-What kinda bhp gains we talkin about?
-Cost?
-0-60 time?
-Is it a "kit", who makes it?
Thx my man-

There are guys on this board that will have a ton of input on this topic. My car was Supercharged You do loose your AC, so it is not an option for most 968 owners. To Supercharger it will run you about 8-10K installed. Turbo charging will run you double+ ($25K is a starting point) Again there are probably a dozen or so guys that have either paid to have their 968 Supercharged or did it themselves. So if you are serious you should find lots of great info from the guys who have been through it.
