manual mode
#1

I am about to switch over to manual mode and saw this on an old post.

I really don't find it to be a problem, but it is a bit harder on the tonneau cover. Because the cables don't hold the top down, the cover has to do all the compressing of the canvas.

Does it mean that if you don't have the boot on the cab top moves up and down when windy or over a bumpy road?

No, it means that when you go to manual mode on the top by disconnecting the motor from the top frame, the top is not held down by the motor. Thus, you have to compress it by hand when you put the tonneau cover on. It's not a big deal, but it does theoretically put more strain on the tonneau cover. I put a towel over the hinges so they don't wear the tonneau out where they contact it. I also put a towel in where the window folds to keep the plastic from abrading itself.

Thanks, I put the towel in window also, original top and still can see through it nicely.
