Lowest Mileage Driven 968???
#1

So, now that our beloved beauties are approaching 20 years of age, what is the lowest original mile example tthat you have personally witnessed being driven?

Not one in a museum, or some track beast that only does 50 miles per racing season, but a real live owned 968 that actually gets some road time each year???

And who owns it, where is it located (like maybe Fairbanks, Alaska?) and why such low miles?

With these rare cars being such fun to drive, it must be tough to keep them covered up for long periods and not exercise them!

Just curious... I suppose the majority now are over 100K, with the babied few in the 50 to 100 K range... can't be many less than 50K... Let's see what comes up... photos would be nice!

IIRC, there a quite a few ("few" being a relative term) with well under 20k miles. Don't ask me for proof.

A couple of years back, there was a speed yellow coupe, complete with M030 with less then 6k on it.

Hey, thats the idea! I do seem to recall the Speed Yellow M030 being very low miles...

Didn't the owner put it up for sale a few years back? Huge price if I recall correctly.

Wonder if she sold, and how many miles on her today???

In any case, keep the info coming... seems about 20 - 25K is the best documented examples so far!

Saw an add earlier this year for an under 10K car. I checked on it - it was legit. Seems like it was 8 or 9K miles. Don't remember exactly where it was at this time, but will likely recall when I'm not trying.

What good is it to own and not drive???

I think the red cab up for sale recently also had some extremely low mileage on it ?? And I'm not sure if my neighbor still hangs on to the black cab he kept as a garage queen waiting for the next century and hoping they'll be worth millions $$ by then, but that one had under 10k miles on it just a few yars back when I spoke to him about it. However, looking at the original post, the question was qualified as " Not one in a museum, or some track beast that only does 50 miles per racing season, but a real live owned 968 that actually gets some road time each year??? " Clearly cars this age with less than 20k-25k miles on it hardly see the light of day but I still suspect there must be dozens of them, just not owned by folks that participate in any forums, and thus we don't know about them.

Cars that are DRIVEN, even if it's just for weekend fun runs surley must have racked up aggergate mileage of 20k or more over so many years.

Red Baron's car crossed 14k at Newtown...that's the lowest I've seen personally. When I drove Flashes white one to Paso Robles it had 14.6k.

I thought Flashes was in the low 20's when I drove it at Ortega. I am sure he will correct me if I'm wrong! Red Barons looked like it just came off the showroom floor in Newtown.

Good point about the really low mile cars owned by non forum participants... they own them as Objects but not for use...

Still, it sounds like there are very few known 968's with less than 20K on the clock... maybe less than a dozen. And that is about right for the relatively few 968's produced and imported... I am sure someone knows the total figures for both coupes and cabs???

Less than 6000 total imported over the four years?
