Looking for a replacement part
#1

Hello All,

Many years ago, I bought rubber well nuts and bolts from 968 Engineering to replace the OEM hold-downs for the Air Box.

I need replacements. They are an over the counter part that was discovered and sold by 968 Engineering, who is now closed.

Does anyone happen to know any information about these rubber units?

Thanks in advance!

Brian

Look up SHAW PLUGS on Ebay or Google. You will have to modify (reverse) the thread mechanism but that's what 968 Engineering probably did anyway.

Okay, for those state side, I found them at https://www.grainger.com.

The item number is 3ZLV3. Body diam. is 0.75 inches/19.05mm and 1.062 inches/26.97mm in length.

They cost $19.43 for a package of 5. You need to get 1 1/2" long, 3/8-16 bolts and washers. (2 required per air box.)

I just replaced them and they work like a charm.Tight fit, (18mm hole) but that keeps them from spinning during installation.

Thanks for those who replied to my post.

Happy 968 motoring, I am up to 333,000 miles.

Took the car out for a ride yesterday after sitting all winter. Put some new gas into it. As I was pulling out onto the street I went to adjust the mirror. It came right off the window into my hands. Ever drive a car without a rear view mirror? Guess where you look constantly?

I've had the same years ago, glued it back on and it's still there.
