Look what I found
#21

Yellow door cards and yellow shift boot were some the Exclusiv options IIRC.

Here are a few other pics of the car that Rader passed along to me... Hopefully he is okay with me posting them.

Here's one with the speedlines he put on...

Drool....!

WOW!!! That is quite a car and what great options!!!! I've seen the very rare XK7 leather shifter boot and knob before but never the door panels. And there is a new (to me) interior option code (18101) that I haven't seen before either (the door panels?). Thanks for posting these great shots. I've never heard of the term "door cards" before. I assume that means door panels. Where did you see/hear that? Any history on the car and where it came from? Thanks again!

Door cards and panels are supposedly the same. Think I heard "cards" used in the 993-specific forum over at Renn.... Might have also heard it on VWVortex specifically referencing the small area around the arm rest that can be easily removed from MKIV Jettas/Golfs.

I unfortunately do not have any more detail on that yellow beauty. I asked Rader for the buyer's info, but hadn't heard back from him. You'd have to contact Rader to get more. I would definitely like to know more about it, especially where it is - pipe dream of mine to own it one day...

Me too, didn't hear back. I would love to see the window sticker to confirm that Turbo S front and rear spoilers could be purchased as options.

The vehicle information sticker doesn't show anything for that. It does show 595 which is the painted rear spoiler in match body color.

Is Rader and member Porsche on this site the same guy?

Yep- but with lower case "p"orsche.

I'm sure Porsche would have added the TS spoiler and wing for the right amount of money back in '94/95....

i don't think the porsche motorsports spoiler or turbo s rear wing were "options", but they were available via porsche motorsports

might have been option code Y01 though

Back then, Porsche's exclusive program would have done anything for the right amount of money. I dont doubt that someone could have ordered a 968 with Turbo S spoilers from the factory. Rader's old car also had oem magnesium C2 Turbo wheels & oem Clubsport seats before he sold it. He installed the Sport seats and sold the clubsport seats. My guess is that all these items were installed by the dealer when the car was originally purchased. The seats & wheels were swapped out when rader sold the car.

This club sport has them, don't know if they were installed at the factory or not.

Opinions regarding Turbo S spoilers [or anything else] being available "for the right amount of money" are fine and I agree, but I'm trying to prove with documentation that it is in fact true because this upgrade could be allowed for SCCA/PCA stock classification with the right evidence [such as a window sticker showing Turbo S spoilers on a non-Turbo S 968]. i think you'll probably lose the argument, but you could try it with "Y01"

the reasoning here is that, while it was not an option available in the standard list of sales options, it was available as an option package through the dealer

the hiccup you may run into is that, as far as i've been able to determine, the parts themselves were not listed in the PCNA motorsports books or option books - they were only in the european books
