Sound deadening material placement in doors
#21

...and then I changed my mind and decided to convert it to a mostly-track car after all, AFTER I spent hours installing the dynamat in the doors. So, I'll be ripping it out one of these days. But I hate removing (or more accurately, re-installing) door panels, so I'll probably wait till the day I go over the deep end and gut the interior.

Sorry to chime in so late on this thread, but yes, flash did line my entire car ( well, every feasible place where one could install the material ) and the difference is like night and day. Not only does the stereo sound like you're in a concert hall, but the ride itself / road noise, is much quieter..makes the car feel like a newer model. But there is a downside : added weight. So for those who are trying to squeeze every fraction of a second out of their car's performance , this certainly won't help

If I were to buy a pure street 968 in the future (a daydream of mine), I would do the full sound deadening treatment throughout the car in a heartbeat. The supercharger will overcome the added weight <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.png" class="smilie" alt="" />. One thing I hate about these cars is the droning sound they make inside - makes it feel like an old, cheap car - I'm sure the sound deadening material treatment is one of the most beneficial things anyone could to to enhance the enjoyment of these cars, right after the short shift kit.
