Shocking question : is it OK to mount different shocks/struts?

I recently purchased a set of rear adjustable koni's for my car, which has the base suspension. Is it OK to mount these now, before I buy the front set of struts or will the car handle terribly? Am I better off just waiting to do fronts and rears at the same time?

I'm also considering putting on M030 sways f/r soon too. Just can't swing the bigger expense of front struts /springs right now but am dying to do SOMETHING.

Last, my car has 67k miles or street use. How long can you typically expect to get out of set of baseline shocks and struts. How long do konis last? Is it worth considering used fronts or should I just buy new?

Thanks

most people will say that they should be the same all around - this isn't necessarily right or wrong - typically i agree, but on this car have varied from that norm

the thing to consider is that the koni shocks are gas, whereas the oem struts are fluid - they have different characteristics and ride feel - that isn't to say that you won't like it, just that they will be different

i am using gas up front and fluid in the back - i like it that way - i prefer the back to be a touch more fluid (pardon the pun) than gas on bumps because i am using heavy springs

if you buy used stuff, make sure you check it out thoroughly before installing - shocks and struts that have been sitting around extended tend to go bad quickly

I have new coilovers in the rear and stock worn-out 150k mile stuff up front. More understeer as compared to all stock.

Thanks. As long as its not dangerous, I'll try it and see how I like it for the time being. I can easily switch back to oem rears until I get the whole set.
