Cross Drilled Rotors Avialable NOw
#1

I just did a search on the site, and noticed many of you recommended STOP TECH BRAND for replacements. I just called them but they do not make a crossed drilled rotor for the MO30 sport suspension rotor.

Are there any other brands that you would recommend? I Forgot to ask therefor the edit,

Rotors that do not develop cracks emanating from where the holes are drilled.

Flash mentioned in one of his replays to look for larger holes that are chamfered as a good rotor.

Just for information Porsche stock numbers are as follows:  The rotors in front are directional while the rears are not  Prices form Sunset available in US as of today

Front Left         965 351 041 01    $288.54

Front Right       965 351 042 01    $288.54

Both Rears       951 352 041 02    $115.39

I honestly don't know why anyone would choose drilled rotors, apart from the looks. Unless you use the car on a track often, just go for solid discs. They should actually do a better job of braking too, but not that you would notice the difference with everyday driving.

If you want the sporty look, you can opt for slotted rotors. Check if they are street legal though. Over here they are not, unless OE.

I just did a survey of different manufactures from Pelican, Autotech plus in Pa, Zimmer, Stop Tech, etc.. What I found is that cross drilled rotors are getting hard to find. In addition I found out that cross drilled rotors cannot be resurfaced in the normal way because the lathe tooth will catch in a hole and break the tip. The only way possible is to surface grind the entire rotor at once on one side flip it over and then the 2nd side. As my rotors were showing signs of wear and I do not have crossed drilled rotors on the rear of my car, which is a MO30 Sport Suspension car and it should have crossed drill on all 4 wheels I ordered a set from Sunset.

Those of you who track the car might want to order a set for the shelf as they may not be available in the future.

I bought my cart from RS Barn in 2010. It is a M030 968. As such it had the crossed drilled rotors on it front and rear. I had bought a set of 968 rotors for front and rear as the wear was starting to wear thinner than recommended. When my mechanic tried to put the rotors on the front we discovered that a previous owner (NOT RS BARN) had upgraded the front rotors and calipers to a larger size. The Porsche 968 front crossed drilled rotors are approx. 303 mm diameter while the 964 Turbo rotors are approx.. 320 mm. The part number for the larger size front Turbo rotors cross drilled is 965 351 045 00 and 046 00 for left and right front rotors.

I forgot to mention the best part regarding the 964 turbo rotors. While the 968 crossed drilled rotors cost $288.34 each the 964 turbo rotors cost $196.17 each. It is funny that a larger diameter rotor (964) would cost less than our 968 rotors. That is a savings of $184.34 total.

this is why everyone should use the search function. I bought this car from another person that William Moss owned and I was wondering what part numbers I needed for my rotors and here we are here. He is talking about exactly what part numbers I need for my car because it is my car.

I replaced all four discs last year.  After doing a bunch of research, I settled upon solid discs.  They work just fine.

When I bought the car years ago, we replaced all the four with either Zimmerman or Sebro drilled rotors. They probably make no difference in performance, but this is a street car and drilled rotors look better IMHO.

I replaced them with 304 mm, the standard for a m030 option. Orginal, crossdrilled, cost a little but looks great instead of solid discs. Especially right and left have a different patern.?
